Our adult education programs include Bible Discussion on Sundays at 9:45 am in the Sanctuary, a Lenten Supper/Study Program during the six-week period preceding Easter, and occasional book study and discussion series.
ADULT BIBLE DISCUSSIONS
We are using the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum, which is lectionary-based. It allows us to explore in greater depth the scriptures we will encounter in worship that day. Our sessions invite adults to deepen their spirituality and explore their faith. The weekly lectionary readings are explored through activities and articles that encourage a rich engagement with the biblical text. Art images, contemporary writings, and consideration of current issues offer meaningful ways to link faith and life. We invite you to participate in this exciting educational opportunity any Sunday at 9:45 am.
STUDY OVER SOUP
Bible/book Lenten study begins Ash Wednesday, March 9 and continues for six weeks to April 13: soup at 6:30 pm, study 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
In every culture and time, persons of faith, of all ages, have summoned trials and tribulations to find the endurance and strength to “dance.” They have danced with the weight of the world upon their shoulders, sustained by God and others dancing near them.
Hard to Dance With the Devil On Your Back, by Ray Buckley, is a weekly-session Lenten study that looks at the transcendent struggle in the lives of believers, while helping us to enter the continually crumbling world surrounding Jesus and the disciples in the days preceding Easter.
The title of this study will remind you of the hymn written by Sydney Carter in 1963 "Lord of the Dance"
Newcomers and visitors are always welcomed!
